While there will be no trains running on Christmas Day and only limited rail services on Boxing Day, National Express will have more coaches running than ever before at this time of the year. The coach operator announces that it will double the number of buses running on Christmas Day to guarantee connections between major cities and airports across UK.
The rail network being also impacted by engineering works during the Christmas period, National Express claims to be ready to “add extra seats as needed to cater to demand”. Additional National Express coaches to UK cities and London airports during Christmas
This year additional National Express services on Christmas Day include London Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick airports as well as the 19 additional cities including Basingstoke, Cambridge, Canterbury, Chesterfield, Derby, Dudley, Edinburgh, Fareham, Folkestone, Gillingham, Newmarket, Norwich, Maidstone, Portsmouth, Thetford, Stansted and Wolverhampton.
The coach operator will continue to serve key destinations with:

- National Express coaches to Liverpool
- National Express coaches to Cardiff
